It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of our colleague and very dear friend Peter Dunn. He died in St Catherine’s Hospice on May 15th after a short stay in hospital.
Peter worked for Deepdale for many years in between his many trips abroad and was an extremely knowledgeable naturalist and ornithologist. In the early formative days of Deepdale, he and John Thompson would spend many an evening building and repairing computers on John’s living room floor. Peter was originally in the police force as a Scene Of crime officer, and was involved in the Barry Prudham case in the early 1980’s. He went on to become the Sergeant at Filey police station, later incorporating Eastfield police. Peter retired from the police and then worked for Deepdale building and repairing computers once more for many years until his work with nature became his main calling.
He will be very sadly missed by us all, and we wish his family sincere and heartfelt sympathy on their sad loss.
